Ohio Police Criticized for Searching 5-Year-Old Boy During Traffic Stop

A routine traffic stop in Parma, Ohio, has sparked outrage after police were caught on video searching a 5-year-old boy’s pockets. The incident occurred on December 26 when Brandon Wilson was pulled over for expired plates and dark window tint while driving his son to a relative’s house.

After Wilson complied with officers’ requests to exit the vehicle, his son followed. Video footage shows an officer searching the child’s pockets while the boy’s hands were raised. The officer is heard asking, “Dad didn’t give you nothing, right?”

Wilson, who claims he cooperated to keep his son calm, expressed outrage over the search, stating that police should not have touched his child. He also noted that the event has left the boy unsettled, as he’s been reenacting the incident with his toys.

Wilson is demanding an internal investigation, asserting that officers had no probable cause to search his car or his son. Despite using a K-9 unit to search the vehicle, police reportedly found nothing illegal.

The family is seeking justice, emphasizing the emotional toll on the young boy.
